Dallas, Texas

Dallas was the first stop on our road trip out to Telluride, Colorado for the winter and was really meant to just be a stop before Austin. I went in with kind of low expectations and ended up LOVING it! We stayed a little further out from downtown, but had a car so it didn't really matter! I think it would have been a little tough to do without a car because the city is pretty spread out. I was lucky to have a boyfriend who doesn't mind driving because the expressway system (especially downtown) was confusing af and made it a little stressful. We were only there for like a day and half but easily could have spent a week there - we liked everywhere we went so here's the list!

Eat:

  1. Dallas Farmer's Market - This is a fun place to eat and walk around! It was pretty big and had so many vegan options that looked really good! I had a noodle bowl with tofu from the Vietnamese place there and it was super good!

  2. Buzzbrews Kitchen - This was a cool place because it looked pretty hole in the wall but had a whole vegan menu! I had a vegan bowl which was soooo good! Def recommend for breakfast!

Drink:

  1. Peticolas - Cool brewery downtown!

  2. Hero - Huuuuuge bar right by American Airlines stadium! Good place for a drink if you're going to a game!

  3. Lala Land - Coffee is a drink! This place has cool lattes and good matcha! I had a lavender honey matcha latte that was super yummy.

Do:

  1. Dallas Art Museum - One of the biggest art museums I have been to - we spent almost two hours here and could have easily spent more. It is also free which is always nice!

  2. Mavericks Game - We went and saw the Mavs play the Heat and it was really fun! My first NBA game - I would def recommend even if you're not a huge sports person. The tickets weren't super expensive and it was a fun way to spend the evening!

  3. Walk around Southern Methodist University - We came and visited the campus because I wanted to look at the law school but we walked around campus for about an hour - its really pretty and definitely enjoyable for a walk!

  4. Holocaust and Human Rights Museum - Another really big and informative museum! I would recommend if you are interested in history! I thought it was definitely worth it.

  5. Dallas Contemporary - This museum is pretty small but we enjoyed the exhibit - it is free too which is nice. It also took us out to the design district which we probably would not have visited otherwise.

  6. Dealy Square and the JFK Memorial - Right across the street from the Holocaust and Human Rights Museum so worth walking over to and checking out!
