My Top 10 Books of 2021

I shared My Must Read Book List at the beginning of the year, so there are a few repeats from that list here, but here is a look into what I read this year and really enjoyed! Share some of your favorite books of the year in the comments!

  1. Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens - Inspiring and mysterious I was hooked on this book and read it in about 2 days. A good beach read but it will also make you think!

  2. The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Places in the World by Eric Weiner - If you have any interest in travel, psychology or anthropology this one is awesome. Follow the other as he travels to different countries to learn why people are happy.

  3. Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson - Another inspiring memoir about racial justice and the criminal justice system in the US from the perspective of a civil rights attorney.

  4. The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World by Melinda Gates - This book is super well written. It has a lot of great information and ideas without being dense and boring.

  5. Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey - One of the best memoirs I have ever read. This is a good book regardless of whether you are a Matthew McConaughey fan or not.

  6. Circe by Madeline Miller - If you grew up reading Percy Jackson or have any interest in Greek mythology then this is a book for you. It tells the myth of Circe from her perspective.

  7. The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls - Another one of my favorite memoirs. A good look at poverty and overcoming challenges.

  8. Becoming by Michelle Obama - Even if you aren't a Michelle Obama fan, the way she discusses politics in America is super insightful and interesting.

  9. Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty - This was super different than anything I have read in the past. It is a lighter read but will have you hooked! The show on Hulu is good too even though it doesn't totally follow the book.

  10. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - I had been meaning to read this one for awhile and I am glad I finally did. It's pretty dark but will have you at the edge of your seat.
