My Top Books of 2022

As everyone who follows me knows I looooove to read! This year my favorite author was definitely Elin Hilderbrand because I really leaned into lighter, happier beach reads. I read a few non-fiction books (mostly about yoga) and also fell in love with Colleen Hoover - like literally everyone else.

These are my favorite books I read this year that weren't law books ;)

You can find me on Goodreads (Caroline Oyler) if you want to see everything I read! Also I'm always looking for new book recs and would love if you leave some of your favorites in the comments!

#1 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand

This is easily one of my all-time favorite books now. I love Elin Hilderbrand's descriptions of everything and all I want is a trip to Nantucket! This love story is happy and sad and soooo emotional. Absolutely loved it

#2 Wild by Cheryl Strayed

This is an amazing and inspiring memoir about the Pacific Crest Trail. Awesome book if you like hiking or traveling! The movie with Reese Witherspoon is also great.

#3 Let my People Go Surfing by Yvon Chouinard

This is a great book written by the owner of Patagonia about his company and business model. Super good if you are interested in sustainable business practices.

#4 Verity by Colleen Hoover

I think this is one of the most talked about books of the year and I could definitely understand why. This was the perfect mixture of a romance and suspense novel.

#5 Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I liked this book a lot because the family dynamic was interesting and I really liked all the characters. This was a kind of light read with some more serious topics woven in which I always love!

#6 Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

Of course another Colleen Hoover book! I loved this one and literally could not put it down. A super complex romance with interesting characters. It was a sad love story with a happy ending.

#7 Be Love Now by Ram Dass

A must read for any yogi or anyone making an effort to be more present.

#8 Beach Read by Emily Henry

I liked this one a lot because it was another happy and light love story that really is perfect to read on the beach.

#9 The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Another one of the most talked about books of the year. I loved all the twists in this book and read it in two days. A must-read if you are into movies and love stories. The movie is supposed to come out soon too!

#10 Golden Girl by Elon Hilderbrand

Another book that made me want to live in Nantucket. This book is sad but with a happy ending. It's less romancy than Elin's other books but sends a good message and shows the strength of families in hard times.
